Ben Brown Ben Brown, Pastor-Teacher

Pastor Ben has been the teaching pastor of Jacksonville Bible Church since July 1, 2009. He has a BA in Bible from Cedarville University and a MDiv from Grace Theological Seminary. He came to JBC after serving 15 years in pastoral ministry at a Bible Church in Warsaw, Indiana. He and his wife Misty married in 1994 and have six children.

Ben’s life pursuit is to be used of God to proclaim His Word in a manner that encourages others to study it for themselves and mature in their own walk with Him. His interest in preaching and teaching isn’t just to fill heads with more information, but to equip people to take next steps towards becoming more faithful, fruitful followers of Jesus Christ. He is committed to the process of passing on and reproducing in others what the Lord has done in him so that they can in turn disciple still others.

Ben has a deep concern for ministry to families. He is grieved by the attacks he observes being leveled against the home and longs to equip people with the Word of God to be the spouses, parents, and children God would have them to be. He believes very firmly that evangelism and discipleship should start at home and is excited about ministries that assist parents in their vital role.

On the lighter side, Ben enjoys time with Misty and his kids going to the beach (The Browns love the ocean), to garage sales and antique shops, or just hanging out at home chasing down the activities the kids like to do together.

Jon and Sanae have been coming to JBC since September of 2005, after they moved from Pennsylvania to the balmy state of North Carolina.  Jon graduated from Philadelphia Biblical University (formerly Philadelphia College of Bible) in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Bible, with a specialty in Youth Ministries.  Jon loves his job as an electrician on Camp LeJeune, but his real passion is studying the Word of God, helping others understand God’s truths, and watching them grow in the grace and knowledge of Him.  His wife of eleven years, Sanae, is equally passionate about working with the youth group, and is involved with other family and women’s ministries.  When he’s not working or teaching, Jon loves to hang out with his family.  He and his wife have two boys, 9 and 2, who love adventures of all kind.  They enjoy playing soccer, water sports, rock climbing, video games, and playing hours of Catan with friends.
