Ben Brown, Pastor-Teacher
Pastor Ben has been the teaching pastor of Jacksonville Bible Church since July 1, 2009. He has a BA in Bible from Cedarville University and a MDiv from Grace Theological Seminary. He came to JBC after serving 15 years in pastoral ministry at a Bible Church in Warsaw, Indiana. He and his wife Misty have been married for 16 years and have five children.
Ben’s life pursuit is to be used of God to proclaim His Word in a manner that encourages others to study it for themselves and mature in their own walk with Him. His interest in preaching and teaching isn’t just to fill heads with more information, but to equip people to take next steps towards becoming more faithful, fruitful followers of Jesus Christ. He is committed to the process of passing on and reproducing in others what the Lord has done in him so that they can in turn disciple still others.
Ben has a deep concern for ministry to families. He is grieved by the attacks he observes being leveled against the home and longs to equip people with the Word of God to be the spouses, parents, and children God would have them to be. He believes very firmly that evangelism and discipleship should start at home and is excited about ministries that assist parents in their vital role.
On the lighter side, Ben enjoys time with Misty and his kids going to the beach (The Browns love the ocean), to garage sales and antique shops, or just hanging out at home chasing down the activities the kids like to do together.
